Sonic 3 and Knuckles Tag Team is a hack of the Sega Genesis game Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Sonic 3). Made by username Jdpense, this game has a lot of new features but mainly focuses on the new button that allows the player to swap between the two characters Sonic and Knuckles. This cool hack also includes a save feature, control change options, a new villain character named Nack the Weasel, and so much more. 

The game also has a few game mechanics that were changed and fundamentally different from the traditional Sonic gameplay. In Sonic 3 and Knuckles Tag Team, you can freely explore the paths and levels with any character without restrictions. Special stages require 50 or more rings to pass and each passing second drains the rings. Dying in this game will immediately swap out the character that's still alive - effectively giving additional life to the player to continue the game.
