Qix

Conquer the playing field to beat the game in this game that will put your strategic proficiency to the test as you try to maximize your personal field to win in Qix.

Qix is a fun puzzle game released in 1981 by Taito America Corporation. The objective of the game is to conquer the majority of the playing field. Your character in the game is a small dot that can only move around the edges. Starting with nothing, you must press the draw button to be able to go outside of one edge and connect back to another and conquer an area. Conquered areas are considered yours and can no longer re-occupy. Collision with the Qix (the entity that floats in the unconquered field) on the process of still conquering an area will result in a failure. The same is true for any contact with the “Sparks” (a fast moving dot that runs on edges). Be careful as you only have a limit of three attempts to win a round. There are two draw buttons features in the game, one that allows you to move with a fast speed and the other in slow speed but will earn double points. Have fun!
