Damn evil robots stealing everything! Gilbert’s light bulbs are stolen by them! Those light bulbs are very important, more important than the lives of those evil robots. The lighthouse is not a lighthouse anymore without those bulbs. Gil needs help. Gil needs to navigate the increasingly treacherous and devious levels to get what is his in the first place. Use them as what they are intended and vanquish all of those robots out of Gil’s beautiful world.

Fair warning to players who find this game as “cute”. Gil is one of the few Flash-based browser games that actually requires skills to complete or even to survive the first few worlds. This action-platformer anchors its gameplay on a physics engine that is both tight and consistent. Gil, as mentioned, may be an action-platformer, but later on, it will show some puzzler elements as the challenge grows more complicated and ridiculous. You will die a lot, this may be the Dark Souls version of a Flash game. Still, the tight control scheme in moving Gil will help you a lot.

There is a great variety in the levels not just with the aesthetics and art direction but also with hand-woven levels that requires your attention. You can already see the entire level as soon as you start playing the game. Plan accordingly and do not rush into the finish line because you will die more often than you should. Patience is a virtue in Gil, and luckily, the music will keep you calm during the trying times.
